The fee for each notarial signature is $50, payable in U.S. dollars or the Icelandic kronur equivalent by cash or credit card. The $50 fee is per notary signature – for example, if you have a document that needs to be signed by a notary in four places, you will be required to pay $200. The Embassy does not accept payment by smartphones, smartwatches, or checks.
Useful Tips
- Do not sign the document before your appointment, this includes any witness(es).
- The fee per Consular seal is U.S. $50.
- Be sure to bring your passport or government issued photo I.D., along with the documents you would like notarized.
- Please examine your document and read it carefully before your appointment. If two people need to sign the same document, or if a witness is required, the names of all attendees should be included when booking your appointment and accompany you to your appointment. Note: U.S. Embassy staff may not serve as a witness for notaries.
