Executive Office

The Ambassador, also known as the Chief of Mission, is the personal representative of the President of the United States to the government and people of Iceland.   A Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) manages the daily business of the Embassy on behalf of the Ambassador.  If an Ambassador’s term has ended and another Ambassador has yet to be appointed, the DCM acts in the Ambassador’s stead as Chargé d’Affaires ad interim.  Two American office managers complete the Executive Office staff.
